The Patent Office of the Republic of Poland has been organising since the year 2007 scientific conferences commonly entitled - "Intellectual Property in the Innovative Economy", held in the Collegium Novum Assembly Hall of the Jagiellonian University.

Topics are focused on issues related to technology transfer from universities to industry, the valuation of inventions and the evaluation of risks associated with their implementation of risk management in the sphere of industrial property, the role of industrial property in the business strategies of companies, the course of the commercialization process of technical innovation whether the financing of innovative projects. A great addition to the symposia meeting are panel discussions devoted to the practical aspects of the industrial property.

The symposia are attended by representatives of Polish and foreign universities, R&Ds, financial institutions, international organizations, foundations and non-profit organizations and public sector entities oriented towards creation, funding and implementing innovative solutions. Participants are the acknowledged experts from the World Intellectual Property Organization, European Patent Office, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
